Press Release:
Curve + Sarjesa

It’s time to spill the tea: we’ve got a new partner and we couldn’t be more excited. We’re proud to announce that we’ve started working closely with the innovative and progressive Canadian tea company, Sarjesa.

Beginning a new partnership with a brand is always an incredibly special moment for us. While we’ve always prided ourselves on the accolades we receive from our retail partners, we know that our shared success wouldn’t be possible without the strong brand relationships that we’ve worked hard to cultivate. Sarjesa doesn’t just represent another big move in the food and beverage industries – it’s also a testament to our commitment to connecting Canadians with the brands they love now and the brands they’re going to love.

Sarjesa is one such brand

Sarjesa is one such brand. Based in Treaty 7 territory, located on the homelands of the Niitsitapi (the Siksika, Piikani, Kainai), the Îyârhe Nakoda, and Tsuut’ina Nations, Sarjesa has curated a selection of expertly-crafted teas – all with a purpose. Sarjesa Tea works directly with Indigenous Elders and community members to learn about the Canadian grown herbs they are using, as well as their fair trade imported teas. The brand then goes even further: they donate 20% of profits to violence prevention programs for women in crisis.

Increasingly, we’re seeing purpose-driven companies rise to the top and distinguish themselves from brands without a clear mission or goal. In fact, nearly three-quarters (73%) of consumers consider a brand’s charitable efforts when making a purchase decision*. More and more, consumers aren’t just expecting a brand to stand for something, they’re demanding it.

“At Sarjesa we are committed to building community through our tasty, ethical teas. We are so excited to be working with Curve, a partner who understands our product and our goals. It’s a dream come true!” – Alexandra Daignault, Sarjesa.

The beverage brand’s combination of delicious tea and a socially conscious mission earned Sarjesa a top 100 place in the 2019 Telus Pitch contest, which they’ve used as a springboard to expand their customer reach. And that’s where we come in.

“Sarjesa is a very special company to me. I was introduced to Sarjesa through a close friend, and I have to say that while the tea is fabulous, Sarjesa is more than that. With their brand and commitment to social good, it’s abundantly clear that they care deeply for the community and society. We are thrilled to be a part of their story, help get their product out there, and be a part of their future success.” Chris Uglanica, Curve Distribution.

Sarjesa Tea comes in multiple flavours, retailing from $8.99 CDN.

So, put the kettle on, pour yourself a cup of tea and get to know Sarjesa a little bit better yourself at Sarjesa.com. Or, as always, pick up the phone and give us a call. We used to think we were exclusively coffee people, but suddenly we’ve got some pretty strong opinions on how to make a cup of tea that we’d love to share (steep for 3 minutes, and always add the milk before you pour the tea).
